Preventing ice crystal formation by running the supercooled tissue through a Sonicare. Interesting...

I wish the article had said something about the cost of long-term storage of tissues in a supercooled facility. That's often been a serious issue in past attempts at "cryogenics".

I don't think we can call this a perfected cryogenics technique until we've successfully frozen a mammal, kept it frozen for a significant timeframe (i.e., brain death would have assuredly occurred in normal freezing) then thawed it out, revived it, and found no severely deleterious or terminal impact on brain function.

Yeah. I'd say this is pretty cool and we're on the right track, but "perfected" is a bit of a stretch.

It's all about marketing, if I had said "on right track" wouldn't have gotten as much looks.

"Impressive New Cryogenics Technology" probably would have worked.

Blayne: you aren't being creative. You're not selling it hard enough! See here for advice

"Japanese Mind-Boggling Cryogenic Advance"
"Astonishing Japanese Advance in Cryogenics"
"Japanese Freeze Living People Against Their Will"

and so on.

you have to mix sensationalism with honesty.

Hey, it'd be great if this didn't turn into a 'what's wrong with Blayne' thread. Just sayin'.

It would also be great if it didn't practically beg to be turned into one.

Cryogenics was perfected by the Germans quite some time ago.

I think the word you're looking for is cryonics.
