Just got an e-mail yesterday morning from the editor of a main stream magazine called The Writer's Post Journal saying they were going to reprint my story "The River Is Forever" in their November issue. The story appeared this June in "Nostalgia" but when I found out after-the-fact (good reason to do better market research) that "Nostalgia" has a circulation of about 100 and it's a fairly sorry looking little thing, I asked the WPJ if they considered reprints. Fortunately I have a pretty good relationship with the editor there and she said they'd take it. Actually, after reading the story, her words were "You rock," but then, she's always liked my stuff. Still, those two words will carry me nicely through my next few hundred rejections.

Thanks, y'all. It does seem to come in waves; I'll get a couple in a short time, then nada for a couple of months. Writer's Post Journal is a print magazine that also has one or two featured stories (editor's picks or whatever) that are also posted on their website. She didn't specifically say so, but the editor intimated she may make "River" one of those stories. We'll see...
