Duotrope told me this market pays Semi-pro and up. Turns out they only pay the winner of an Editors Choice Award that is given bimonthly. If I had read the submission guidelines I probably wouldn't have submitted. All in all though, I'm glad I did.

Congrats! (You articulated what my issue is with Duotrope's payment guidelines, too. I've taken to only searching for pro rates. It sweeps in mags that pay semi-pro to pro, but this way I get mostly the top-paying markets when I search. Not that I've been published in them yet but...there's time!

Yes, I think I submitted to them once then stopped. I say this in a totally non-snarky way but thats why its a good idea to read the submission guidlines etc carefully and repeatedly.

Congratulations! At the very least you can put it on your next submission, right? Gotta look for that silver lining.
