in case you havent heard, a local assistant principle was arrested yesterday for... innappropriate conduct with a student. that just sickens me, and I hope he gets the same treatment in jail. (ok, overzealous there, but who cares?)

Yeah ... in my high school we've had several teachers (over the years) be dismissed and/or go to jail for this kind of thing (depending on the degree of severity and circumstances) I know it's not quite the same thing with highschoolers as it is with youngsters, but still... how this ends up happening always baffles me.

I have worked with many children who have been victims of predatory abuse, and it is very sad to see the emotional turmoil they continue to suffer throughout their childhood. Our justice system has really failed us in this area.

stupid pedos... Im gonna write a short story that completely humiliates them, reducing them to the level of animals, chewing up the pieces, throwing them into a fire, then cloning them just so I can do it all over again.

they dont call me dreadlord for nothing.

and dont even get me started on the perpetrator.
Im thinking saw... IV.

Might I suggest, that everyone is innocent until proven guilty? I have a good friend whose stepchildren accused him of pedophilia-based child abuse. He was found not guilty in a county with a 96% conviction rate for child abuse cases. Their conviction rate otherwise is around 60%. This was in 2003.

There are people in jail who are innocent. However, I do agree with you the people who are guilty should rot.

Good point, LAJD.

We had a local teacher who committed suicide a few years ago due to an accusation. Later, it was found that the accusation was false. He had a wife and children.

However, when an arrest is involved, there is usually strong evidence to suggest wrongdoing.

Of course, when you sit on a jury, you have to judge the case on the evidence and testimony presented, and only on that---out in the real world you can form opinions based on media reports. Somebody might be guilty as sin but it can't be proved in court.

Or it might be proved and yet somehow not established. Gee instead of milk i could sure go for some O.J. with my pancakes, which I'll eat watching my favorite show The Simpson.

Not established in court..I can relate to all this. I got my education in Criminal Justice, and worked in a jail. Trust me, arrests don't mean much one way or the other as far as guilt or innocence; that's why we go to court, just like a football game, what looked good on paper doesn't necessarily play out in real life. The cops and the prosecutors totally bungled the "Juice" case. We used that one as an example of what not to do in most of my classes from criminalistics to investigations 101 to laws of evidence. I get the frustration. Cases like that are why law enforcement needs to embrace the idea of education past high school. You do the job wrong, bad guys walk! Those little technicalities that get guys off usually stem from our Constitutions, U.S. or State. That means that as angry as it makes us, we have to play by the rules. But if cops know the rules, they tend not to lose convictions.

And none of this stops us from getting justice with our pens, like dreadlord proposes. By the Way, convicted pedophiles really and truly do get theirs in prison/jail. Ironically, when the justice system fails us with slap on the wrist sentences, the criminals make up for it. Jail Justice is no myth!!
