I don't like Mountain Dew. Sorry peek, i'm more of a cola person.

I think "dude" could be considered correct for either gender, most people use it for males and females. I have, however, also heard the word "dudette" used numerous times.

I can't believe this thread has gotton this many posts!

Well, dudes and dudettes, doesn't it strike anyone as particularly sexist that it's okay to call a gal a dude, but chick for guys is a perjorative?

Think for a second that I could've replaced the second, third and fourth words of my post with 'guys' and it would have been inclusive of females, too. Weird, ain't it?

David, I thought of that, but "dudette" is such a dumb word (sorry to any dudettes out there...) that I would prefer to be addressed as "dude" if one of those terms must be used. And "chick" doesn't have to be pejorative, but it can be depending on context and tone of voice, just as can "girl" and "boy." Examples: "My roommate blow dries her hair for half an hour every morning and tries on her entire wardrobe before going out. She's such a girl." "I hate boys (but men are ok)." In these cases, "girl" translates as "appearance-obsessed and immature" and "boy" translates as "sex-obsessed and immature." I dislike them all equally.

I think chick is sort of used as a perjorative for females, too.

So... any thread that gets into the 60's is good?

Granted, THIS is a very interesting thread...

But I like ones with some how do you say... content in them better...

I like these occasional side-posts. If you want content, there is plenty more places to go. If you take this one seriously than you might need an enima.

Thanks for a dose of "hippy happiness" in an otherwise argumentative atmosphere. Ok, I disagree with the hippy lifestyle and many of its beliefs, but its attitude about finding happiness in simplicity I accept.I think we need one of these started on the other side.

Thanks Peek-a-boo, who is cool. By the way, go to "happy thoughts" thread I will create on the other side.

Men...I don't know...I guess a man would be a male who's only a boy SOMETIMES. From what I understand, they never actually leave boyhood completely (my mom told me).

But Growing up would suck! Actually though when people tell boys they are to old to play with toys thats when we are men. thats also when we get even more expensive toys and disguise them as a hobby. Such as Cars, Entertainment systems or anthing we can tinker with.

But, I digress.

All, in fact, is very good

Later, Dudes and dudettes

Hey, this is the only cool topic to post under! It's so... cool and so... uh... GOOD? Maybe? Yeah, I'm not sure it's all good... but we can pretend it is and then I suppose it really will be. Yup. Or we could just smoke weed like Peek-A-Boo... Might be easier.
