It seems Fenway has ghosts too... the ghost of Bill Buckner hanging around first base and whispering in Tony Clark's ear...

This really reminds me of game 4 of the 1996 Stanley Cup Finals in which Florida down 3-0 in the series pushed the game to the third overtime before finally cracking.

You know, you all should be proud. In June/July, the Red Sox were easily the biggest disappointment in the major leagues. It looked for a while like they might not even beat Tampa. They came roaring back, and made a race out of it. Going into the three game series in New York, a lot of people thought Boston would win the division. Going into this playoff series, Boston was favored to win. After being on the brink of being swept, the Red Sox showed that they wouldn't quit, even when their fans at Fenway were more than ready to. You got Pedro playing again and Schilling ready to try again tommorrow despite his injury. You have a lot to be proud of.

1)Watch parts of first 3 games; the Sox lose them all. 2)Don't watch Game 4, based on a gut feeling that watching would be bad. Check the score only once; the Sox win. 3) As a result, here I am, avoiding scores for as long as possible (10-15 minutes at a time), and only checking mlb.com. I am not watching the Sox on TV though.

Just something for the Red Sox fans: every Empire crumbles in the end. It is only a matter of time and corruption, and the Yankees have had their share of both time AND corruption. I suggest some knives hidden in your sleeves. It worked for my enemies!

Does this mean we can blame you for these extra innings?

In the lawn-art category we win all the time, it's just in the baseball category that we have issues...

Everyone realizes this is just going to make it harder to take when the Sox finally do crumble, right?

Actually, no. There's a huge difference between putting up a fight and letting someone roll over you.

If we were talking about the Cubbies I might believe you. But the idea that Boston is cursed is based on that they get so close and still lose so if Boston had gotten blown out 4-0...

I now return to basking in the fact that the Yankees lost. You can't have a bad day when it ends with the Yankees losing.

OK, I have blown off paperwork, I have had some wine, and I am ready for whatever the night brings.
I lift my glass to you all, Yanks and Sox fans alike. "To the victor go the spoils," but I love you either way.
