If you had to legally change your real given name (not your Hatrack alias), what would you change it to? Beyond the inevitable jokes ("Max Power" "Buck Naked"), what would you really chose?

If I changed my name it would be pronounced the same but spelled as something particularly obscene. That way when telemarketters call me and pronounce it the way it's spelled I can yell "WHAT did you just call me?!"

Brenda Taylor. It was my pen name in High school. Though I might get stuck with whatever last name the man chooses. He knew some people who changed their last name to Freeman. For the sake of their privacy I won't say what it used to be. But it sounded like something one might say in response to a bad smell. And it wasn't Hewlett-Wan.

Do we have to change all of it? Because if it's just first name, I'd just take my middle name as my first name, since my middle name is good as well.
EDIT: I editted to say that my middle name is Jacob for the record. I think it's a decent name with some possible nicknames.

Esther. It is my Hebrew name, and the name that I go by socially. It is on my credit cards, bank account, work paychecks, diploma, nursing license.
But my birth certificate says "Laura", and so does my Social Security Card, Driver's License, Passport.
Sometimes the different names cause a bit of bureaucratic headaches.

If I was going to change my last name I would change it to Pendragon. A bit over the top, perhaps, but in a good way.

Tante that last line made me laugh so much my housemates asked me what was so funny. And they didn't believe me when I said I wasn't really talking to anyone.

I'd probably change my name to Steven Feyd, and just go by Feyd. That way, when someone calls and asks for Steven, I could just hang up on them without saying anything.
And Steven, while a good name, is so terribly overused.

Lucy, my last name is fine as is, and really Sarah isn't too bad, but I associate more with Lucy.

Tante - I go by Rebecca or Becca depending on the person. When I was little I abhored being called Becky, but the hatred seems to have waned. And my mom has variations of what she calls me, one of which I'm pretty sure is Beccelah.

I go by my first name sometimes and my middle name sometimes and it confuses everyone. So I toyed with the idea of dropping my last name and just being Anneke Morgan.

I like Kira as a name. It seems kind of nice. The rest of Treason's I find kind of uninteresting (trying too hard in my opinion).

Would you pronounce Ayn like Ann or like Ayn Rand does (Ein)?
She actually pronounced it to rhyme with "pine". And despite her later claims that she got the name from a Finnish novelist, someone who knew her well once told her that her father used to call her Aynele when she was little, and Rand said that her father did the same with her.

I think most people probably would. The other two were very unbelievable- that's just not how people act. I think Kira's experiences were based more on Rand's own experiences, making her much more real.

To Treason- I could never relate to John Galt. It seemed so dumb and random the way that she went for him over Francisco or Reardon (sp?). He was so poorly developed. Once I learned more about her life and relationship with Nathaniel Brandon, it made way more sense.
