'Cuz I'm coming to visit.

Conference Sunday, February 25 thru Tuesday, February 27. Pretty booked during the days, but I'd love to get together with folks either Sunday or Monday evening.

Ditto on what Tara said. I used to live there. Where are you going to be staying and spending most of your time, and what's the conference for?

If you're looking for good food, my top three are:
-La Taqueria on Mission and 25th. They have the most excellent tacos ever, and I generally don't like mexican food. Make sure to ask for crispy style.

-Tartine on Guerrero and 18th. Excellent french bakery with excellent croissants. And if you like chocolate, I recommend the pain au chocolat. Very rich and heart stopping.

-Cordon Bleu, a hole in the wall Vietnamese place that's on California between Polk and Larkin.

Hope you have fun, and get a mini Rivka-con out of the trip.

Given that none of those have kosher food, I appreciate the thought, but will pass. [Smile]

The conference is the College Board's Western Region Forum. I'm staying at a hotel just off Union Square.

Fortunately, there does seem to be one (but just one) kosher restaurant not too far away.

Doh! I forgot about that. Sorry.

Union Square is right in the heart of downtown. Should be fun.

No worries, signal. [Smile] I appreciate the thought.

Given that no Jatraqueros seem interested in getting together with me up there (*sob*), I guess I'll have to explore the area on my own. Alas! [Wink]

*pat pat* I've done the SJ-to-SF drive, and it is a pain -- especially in the evening. So I totally understand, Pix.

If you message Celaeno, she may go - she's in SJ and makes the drive pretty regularly.

Yeah, where is that handy dandy Hatrack map? There are a few other Jatraqueros around here.

Woot! Half-reality, here I come!
I'm still not sure I can make it though. I think I have a project due Tuesday.. gotta check with my group.

[edit: and yes, I know rivka won't read this until tomorrow evening, but hey.]

Hey, I'm going to SF in a couple of hours. erosomniac's right. I make the drive quite often. I've also done the Caltrain/BART thing.

Rivka, I'd love to meet you.

Pixiest, I could give you a ride.

esl, I'm real too, so you'll be real even if the others can't make it.

Abhi, you're coming, right?

Woohoo! I can make Sunday night. I need to be back at school (Davis) for Monday. I think I misremembered the date for that project. Looks like we need to get crackin on it sooner than I had anticipated.

It would be very cool to meet you all.

Does Sunday night at the Sabra Grill work for everyone?

Seminars are over at 5 on Sunday, and while I will probably pop in to the welcome reception (5-6:30) I have no intention of staying long. Six-ish?

Oh, and if anyone is coming in a car, a ride from the Palace Hotel (where the conference is) would be great. [Smile]

Quick head-count: are we going to be five or more?

I feel like this should be sorta obvious but I don't know, so: how do we all find each other? Will we be meeting up at the restaurant before sitting down? Now I'm envisioning calling rivka and waving my arms around to no avail..

P.S. Yes, this will be exciting!
