I am so practicing avoidance so I don't read my chapter for class tonight...then again I did read it a couple weeks ago so it's not like I'm completely skating on it.
At any rate, here's my schedule for the fall:
18 hours split between English/Language Arts classes and education classes:
Milton (this should be fun!) Contemporary American Poetry Grammar & Usage for English teachers (Joy! Diagramming!) Intro to Mass Communications (blech - silly requirement) Teaching and Technology Psychological foundations of Education

While a college grad, I still find myself taking classes at the community college to enhance my career potential. Probably because I majored in history the first time around. So-
-Cisco Networking Associates Course, Semester 2 (It's a 4-semester program to work in data systems)
-Chinese 1 (to hopefully spend a year in China teaching when I get out of the Marines)
-Latin Dance (to look good during our first dance as a married couple - getting married in October)

Vector calculus Engineering 100 (engineering honors course) Engineering 101 (engineering survey course - counts as an entry level course for any engineering major) Engineering 102 (some sort of engineering academy class) History of California A writing class associated with the history class
Which comes out to 18 hours.
So hopefully I'll survive freshman year.

This fall will be my first regular semester at my new school (University of Nebraska at Omaha). I am finishing up my second summer session next week (how cool is it that I can complete four semester-long courses in two months?!).
-Special Topics: Nebraska Field Trip (only a one-credit course to fulfill a requirement leftover from transfer) -Principles of Creative Advertising (Journalism) -Introduction to Latino/Latin American Studies -Introduction to Public Administration -Nonprofit Fundraising
I am also doing a Public Administration internship for the American Lung Association, which makes 16 total hours (12 is full-time). It's so nice that most (all but one) of my core classes are done and I can focus on the fun stuff.

I am finding myself seriously apprehensive about the sign language class. I'm terrible at learning languages and just praying that the visual aspect of it will make it all click in my brain. Posts: 81 | Registered: Sep 2004

I'm considering sitting in on an undergraduate philosophy class to keep my hand in it, but I doubt I'll have time.

I think I've had one semester that wasn't max credit load... and it was one of my worst. What does this say about me?

Don't be. My first sign language class (I've had three) was cake. Most people, if not all got the hang of it. If you've had a foreign language class in the past, it could help. Learning about deaf culture was fascinating.

I don't know exactly what I'll be taking, yet, but I do know I'll be taking classes this fall. I'm going to try to turn my two years of college into an actual degree (AA).

I put a lot of thought into my first semester of college >_>... I just can't remember what I decided to choose.
Edit: Mr Funny's post reminded me that I have to take Histgory of California next semester. Gee, that'll be loads of fun. I don't mind history in general but I can't imagine it being very interesting, I'd rather study the history of France. (That is not sarcasm, in case any of you wonder, I really find French history terribly interesting.)

1. Honors "Exploring Humanity Through Film"- taught by four different profs. One's a theologian, another is from the Family and Consumer Sciences dept. not sure about the other two. 2.Fundamentals of Christian Education- taught by my former children's pastor from when I actually was in children's church (he was the one who baptized me and stuff)- and a very very good family friend. 3. Fundamentals of Christian Ministry 4. Sharing Our Faith 5. Child Development Psychology 6. History and Systems of Psychology
And most importantly- Freshman Seminar Connections!
16 hour load. I want to double major in Pastoral Studies (hence the religious classes) and Psychology. It helps I have 33 hours going in.

I'm not really a college student anymore (having graduated and all), but I am student teaching in the fall. So I guess I'm still a student of sorts. I'll find out in about 2 weeks or so where I'm student teaching and with who. I've got my fingers crossed that it'll be my old high school.

In Texas are you allowed to student teach at your old high school? We're not supposed to here (I know a music student who got to).

I thought I'd work my way up to full time, just taking 10 credits.
Math 065 (which will be a challenge because my placement test put me at Math 017 -- how sad is that? Still, I have been reading the text book and none of it is particularly scary until you get to the last chapter.)
and Beginning Web Development.
I am very excited to start school -- after 15 years of saying 'if I get the chance...' I'm actually doing it. Go me!

Introductory economics. Should be pretty easy, as my dad's an accountant and I've studied some economics before. It should also be pretty fun. The instructor is a hippie and plays rock music during the lectures.

You have a course just entitled introductory economics, not introductory microeconomics or introductory macroeconomics? Interesting. What school do you go to?

I took about 15 years off too, and thought it was going to be impossible, now I cannot imagine my life if I hadn't decided to go back to school.
I just got my grades from the summer term - all A's! Since I returned to school after that 15 year absence, I've maintained a perfect 4.0. I never thought I'd be able to keep up with classes, let alone make those types of grades, but it's been easier than I thought. I think because I'm truly dedicated now, I want this really bad and I'm willing to put in the hours and time to study and make it happen.

And the fun part- I'm TA'ing a Parenting Education course and then a Seminar class where we will be using Second Life as the platform for discussion and some immersive experiences. I'm really excited about that
