That is not a cicada, that is an Oleander hawk moth.
I love those things. they are sooooooooo pretty.

Oh, my mistake! I wondered about the wings, but figured that their look could be chalked up to creative license on the part of the artist. In any case, it's a great tattoo.

You know, I don't often say this about new tatoos, but the redness around the moth actually makes it prettier.
