Ok, I'm going to take a wild guess and say you've never seen Return of the Jedi.

Sorry to ruin all your fun, you guys, but peaked-in-blue is DEFINITLY not my dad. I don't think my father has ever even turned on the computer, let alone Hatrack. I made him read Ender's Game once and he didn't understand it. At the end he said, "So were the battles real?"

Dude Jeni

Yeah.

Memo to Peak-a-boo and Jeni:

Go rent the Star Wars Trilogy

Watch it, learn it, love it.

Come back and read my last few posts.

Slap forehead with dominant hand and exclaim, "Ooooohhhh, I get it. That was actually pretty funny! Good one Tanman!"

Yeah...

Episode one is not "all good." However, "Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" is soap opera packaged as a sci fi flick. You'll love it.

Thanks, I'll remember to rent them next time I'm roaming aimlessly around the local Blockbuster looking for somehting to watch.

That is, as long as no one says "Yipeeee!!" in either of them.

Yeah. and while you're walking around aimlessly in Blockbuster, here are some more excellent movies you MUST see:

1) Matrix (yes. we are all batteries for the evil computers who rule the world!)

2) Jaws (music kicks butt, and who couldn't resist a shark movie? Good to cuddle up with a girlfriend too)

3) Jurassic Park (dinosaurs rule! best part was where the guy got eaten while sitting on the toilet!) hehehehehe

4) Indiana Jones (nazis and whips and treasure hunting and evil rituals, oh my! and the monkey brains and eyeball soup were FUNNY too)

5) Independence Day (Who can't resist seeing 15-mile wide flying saucers blow up all the big cities on Earth?)

6) Stargate (horrible acting made up by great music and an awesome plot. yes. The egyptians really were influenced by aliens)

7) American Pie (rent it if you have a crazy wild teenage perverted side!) *innocent look*

8) Beetlejuice (what really happens after death)

There are probably a ton more that I'm forgetting. Oh well.

It's alll good

Out of that list, I've only seen Jurrasic Park and American Pie. Jurrasic Park was good and AP was hilarious.

Actually, my sister liked Episode One. Only because she has a thing for Jake Lloyd though.

If you have any taste at all, you will ignore what Thrawn said and rent something like:

Dr. Strangelove,
Full Metal Jacket,
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead,
The Usual Suspects,
Natural Born Killers,
Princess Mononoke,
Titus.

Eclectic, yes; better than Thrawn's list, what do you think?

Ignore? IGNORE what I said? hahahaha. Funny. Anyway. Here's some more movies you must see:

Lethal Weapon: (Martin Riggs and Roger Martaugh are the 2 most hilarious police officers ever! All 4 movies RULE!)

Braveheart: (FREEDOM! need I say more?)

Gladiator: (Best movie of the year, MAXIMUS! MAXIMUS! MAXIMUS!)

OK, Chaeron, I've seen about half your list, and want to see half of the other half, leaving only a quarter that I'm indifferent to. And overall, I certainly approve of your list more than Adm. Thrawn's. (Sorry, man)

Natural Born Killers was a superb satire; all you have to do is think back to the US TV networks coverage of the whole Columbine thing. It makes the movie so much more relevant.

I always liked Blade Runner as well...

The two most recent productions of Hamlet are also definately worth watching.

The one done last year has Hamlet doing his "To be or not to be" soliloquay while wandering the isles of Blockbuster Video.

And the 1996 production is simply the best ever made.

Amadeus is very good.

Blade Runner is excellent.

I like the three most recent Hamlets. I'd really love to take pieces from each of them and just make one beautiful megaHamlet.

The most recent Othello, Twelfth Night, and Much Ado About Nothing are also wonderful.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is amazing.

Gattaca and Dangerous Beauty are perfect.

Waiting for Guffman is hilarious.

With the whole “it’s all good” motto how could American Beauty not be on the movie list. As far as actors go Kevin Spacey reigns supreme.

American Beauty was an odd movie. It seemed like everyone either hated it or loved it. I loved it.

My favorite movie has to be Shawshank Redemption. No matter how many times I see it I never lose interest, and I always seem to learn something new from it.

A close second would be Dead Poets Society, though I've only seen it twice. Excellent movie.

Dude, Where's My Car was undoubtedly the dumbest movie I've ever seen. Okay, I'll admit some parts were funny (my personal favorite was the Chinese Foooooooood episode), but the rest was just plain stupid. You might as well just watch the previews - all the good parts were in them anyway.

OK, I just found this forum a week ago, and I have been avoiding this thread the whole time (Four long pages can be intimidating!). But after those four long pages, I have a few things to say:

1) Dude, it IS all good.
2) Try "The Fisher King" with Robin Williams... I liked it many years ago, although I'm not sure what I'd think of it now.
3) Tanman... dude you should never have gone to the dark side...
4) Dude, I'm graduating from High School a year early... it's all good!
