In the interests of valid statistics, whatever that means, I am 25 and atheist/apatheist/agnostic. Depending on how they're defined, I suppose.

This is interesting. Last time I did a similar poll, the believers and non-believers were pretty easily matched, with about half of the believers being Mormon.
The results of this poll show (so far) the believers definitely outnumbering non-believers, with non-LDS believers being about twice as many as LDS.
Hatrack is an ever-changing beast. Of course those who do or do not choose to respond play a part in that too.

wow, you are all old. I'm 17 and I'm technically Baptist, but it's more non'denominational. Bible being my final authority.

Probably ought to lump all the protestants together, I think we're a bigger group than is represented in Kayla's list.

Cripes, it's a whole statistical consolidation and everything. I'm not actually LDS, in case I'm being counted as one. That was a joke. I figured if we were going to do a a/s/r? thread, I needed to fit the stereotype that started it.

Quiet you. I'm trying to conform to the hypothetical Hatrack norm so that I'll get more hits on the Hatrackers I'd like to date thread. Also, I heard that those Mormons can marry like 10 girls and the girl I hooked up with over the 4th of July has a twin sister. Seriously, how freaking sweet would that be?

I compiled everything too, because I got bored.
But, for those who are also bored, I made a colorful pie graph. Two actually, since the question was how many young Mormon hatrackers there were. I used 30 as the cutoff age, even though I don't consider 30 to be that old, because boards like this traditionally skew young.
Also, I should of course tell you that this is in no way statistically valid, since response was voluntary. I suspect it's fairly accurate, but who really knows.

Squicky, you can like the non-Utah people as long as you're okay with the knowledge that they aren't going to the special utah section of heaven

ElJay: "Annie, we were asked to respond to a poll. How are those of us who were raised in and/or practice another religion trying very hard to prove we're not Mormon? ------------------------------------------------------------------------"
I think the main thing is there is a disproportional representation of areligionists. And she's right, this does tend to be true of Salt Lake City and particularly the U of U. People who do practice another religion tend to do so very privately, which I think is fine. But the resistance against Mormonism is very obvious in every area of public life not directly controlled by the church.

Yeah, I do. But the question was what percentage of hatrack do young mormons make up, and I didn't have room on the chart to write "Catholic, methodist, taoist, SDA, Jehovah's witness, Jewish, non denominational christian, congregationalist, mennonite, baptist, church of final atonement, and jedi".
A bigger complaint, especially from you, Rivka, is that I group the Jewish people under Christian (which, of course, you're most emphatically not).

El Spang, thanks, you were the one who posted that!
Rivka, duh. You know they aren't. I mean, you can't post stuff on a board filled with young Mormons and expect to not be crucified. I mean, they eat babies! They aren't Christians. Sheesh.

Man, from the pie chart, it looks like not only do people become Republicans as they age, they also become Christian/other!
