A friend from another group just turned me on to Nightwish. She described them as "symphonic metal" and I quite like the clips on their website. So I'm on iTunes downloading tracks.

*melts* These guys are amazing! the 12 year old is iffy on their version of Phantom, though, says the female singer is breathing in the wrong places... (yes I have an aspiring prima donna in the house)

Oh, I forgot to mention: I've only discovered them this year. An aunt gave a compilation CD as birthday present to my brother, and he didn't like them. Lucky me. I'm still working my way through their songs but I'm really enjoying this!

LDS Church--"Man's Search For Happiness" soundtrack Church's pavillion at 1964 World's Fair used this film as their presentation. On my mission, we used to use this in a filmstrip version and played the filmstrip along with a cassette tape of the soundtrack for families.

Soundtrack--The Little Mermaid "Kiss The Girl"
Hello there Corwin. Do you enjoy an eclectic mix of music to listen to? I try to listen to a great many types of music so as to broaden my horizons. It has allowed me to be able to truly enjoy a great many types of music. I hope that everyone, and you also, can experience this enjoyment.

I think I'm pretty constant in my tastes... and pretty narrow, I'm afraid. From time to time I try listening to stuff I don't usually listen to, and a couple of times I actually enjoyed the experience. Oh, and much of my "inspiration" came from Hatrack since I've registered here. So, thanks everybody!
By the way, did you check this thread: the music genome? In the first post there's a link to a quite interesting musical project.

Roger Waters - The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking (from the In the Flesh concert)
Random fact of the day: Listen to that one around 4 minutes after the start, and then to Eric Clapton's River of Tears. Is it me or do they sound a lot alike?
