100 Days until Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince!
Reason #100: Lightning shaped scars are hot!
(By way of explanation, sarcasticmuppet started a similar countdown-thread yesterday, but she was a day early (overly excited perhaps? ). I thought about just using her thread as a conduit for the thread I was planning, but I thought that since my plan is slightly different it would be ok to start a new one.)
This is the idea: I will post a different reason to love Harry Potter with every day of the countdown. Feel free to add your own, but try to keep them for the same day of the countdown (ie. any reasons posted today would be under reason #100) so that the countdown can remain intact.

Harry Potter is the only children's book not dealing with potty-training, in which the author faces reality: there are bathrooms.

Hermione is really, really cool. I hope my kids will grow to emulate her dedication to dental hygiene, academics, and championing the rights of the oppressed.

Harry Potter has ruined my life. Since harry potter became popular, i haven't gone anywhere without someone telling me how much i look like him. For a while, when people asked me to sign stuff (thinking I was Daniel Radcliff) I signed for them. But it is a pain none the less. I would deeply like for the Harry Potter movies and books to end, so that I can on with my life.

#99 : Because Snape is hot ! #99 : Because I have a friend at the choir who has the exact same scar than Harry Potter - and it's a true one.

#99: A brand new type of jargon to confuse everybody else.
OWL's and NEWT's and such, you know.
Also, who here agrees with me that Emily Watson is one of those girls who's just going to grow up and be a heartbreaker?

Dude, I have the exact same problem! Don't be annoyed, enjoy it Its been less of a problem since I gained some height and grew a beard. But freshman year, even before the movies even started coming out, people would come up to me all the time and say I looked exactly like they imagined Harry. I had the messy dark dark brown hair, glasses and everything. Its not a bad thing, its fun
But if it really bugs you that much, just grow a beard, that'll solve the problem. After I did that people stopped telling me I looked like him

We seriously need to tone it down to one reason a day... or we're gonna start running out of reasons... or maybe 10 reasons a day. But if we keep up at like 15 we're gonna be in trouble at around day 10 or so

97 Days until Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince!
Reason #97:
quote: A breeze ruffled the neat hedges of Privet Drive, which lay silent and tidy under the inky sky, the very last place you woud expect astonishing things to happen. Harry Potter rolled over inside his blankets without waking up. One small hand closed on the letter beside him and he slept on, not knowing he was special, not knowing he was famous, not knowing he would be woken in a few hours' time by Mrs. Dursley's scream as she opened the front door to put out the milk bottles, nor that he would spend the next few weeks being prodded and pinched by his cousin Dudley....He couldn't know that at this very moment, people meeting in secret all over the country were holding up their glasses and saying in hushed voices: "To Harry Potter--the boy who lived!"
Any series that begins like that has to rock!

#97 The fact that butterbeer is alcaholic only a very low level- it is enough to get Winky completely drunk, but doesn't affect humans, even children, all that much.
