1. Aw, cool! The Incredible Mouth Band is doing a Rutles shout-out! The masks are like the Tragical History Tour ones. In addition to the already-cool idea. Now I want to do one of my own like that.
2. Christopher Lee in George Lucas' LotR made my life.
3. The 'Hobbits To Isengard' one has been around a while, but the techno LotR theme never gets old!
4. Thanks for the entertainment, Strider.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oq7a7Cw2SP8 This one is pretty cool. It's a bunch of guys pulling off some crazy jumps. These videos have been linked on Hatrack before, I think, but they're definitely worth watching again.

btw Fitz, I just watched that NIN/Star Trek one. I hadn't watched it earlier because I really dislike Star Trek, but that video was awesome. Though I wouldn't suggest most hatrackers, unless they're familiar with Nine Inch Nails, watch that. It's probably a pretty offensive song for most.

That Lucas LOTR movie is really some of the most cogent criticism of Lucas-syle film making i've ever seen: "He's certainly a strange man... it's an interesting way to make a film... certainly not a good way."
And this gem: "I thought, you know, that since LOTR was a pretty serious movie dealing with, you know, some serious issues, that in the scene with the battle at Helm's Deep, I would have a banana... slapping itself in the face"
"so we just all got together and slapped ourselves in the faces, and slapped bananas, and slapped our faces with bananas, and the nwe scanned all that in to the computer, you know, and rendered it, and manipulated it, and then we went back, you know, and added eyes, and bruises, cause THAT was the detail that mattered to us."

A metaphor for Bush: what happens when you give control of the world's most powerful military to a president who doesn't know the difference between Shia and Sunni?

Senator Santorum's concession speech I thought it was a pretty classy speech. He even gets the crowd to give his opponent a round of applause.
But Wonkette posts a photo taken at the same time, and it shows Ricky, Jr. flipping the bird. I can't tell if the kid did it on purpose or not. And there's also this sad shot of Santorum's daughter crying.

As hilarious as that first picture is, I'm sure he was just straightening his glasses with the wrong finger. The second photo, though, is a bit disturbing.

I'm glad Santorum lost, but the second picture is a little disturbing. Not least because the girl seems what, maybe 8? or 9? and has matching outfits with her dolly.
Shigosei, you can see the kid flipping the bird in the video too. I've watched it twice and can't tell if it was on purpose or not.

This song is a staple at our weekly karaoke nights. I sing it, while a friend of mine who's an ASL interpreter signs it. The signs are unbelievably dirty-looking, even considering the lyrics. It's always a crowd-pleaser.
But now I'll think of Kirk and Spock while I sing it. Posts: 1006 | Registered: Jun 2006

I don't know if it's more sad that I actually knew the name of every single episode used in this vid, or that I could predict which episodes would be used before the music even started.
I love few things more than original Star Trek. But I only love it because it's so incredibly cheesy. That is my one saving grace.

I thought the Chad Vader link was in this thread--it must have had its own. I wonder if the next episode is up.

Well, I didn't do any of the three. I did, however, stare at it and fell in and out of consciousness while doing so.

The second one is funnier if you know the guitarist. They have a whole bunch of those videos with him and some other guitarists like Yngwie Malmsteen.

Wow, that was the ending that occurred to me when I was a kid: Why didn't they just send the eagle in the first place?

My new Spanish teacher mentioned the existence of this in passing, and I happened to have my laptop open at the time and was able to google it. (He’s the salad-dodger doing the lip sinking)
The class thought it was pretty funny, we’ll be sure to work it into the video yearbook too.

Not YouTube, but some very nice, very clever little animated shorts.
Really. Watch the top three. Tear yourself away from the crappy, derivative to the nth degree anime and see what real animation looks like. You know, live a little.

Guess what I did with "The Incredible Mouth Band".
*Gives them time to guess*
YOU GUESSED WRONG!!!
Actually, I tabbed the song's guitar, bass, keyboard and drum parts on Guitar Pro . It sounds awesome, and I had a blast doing it. (At 1 A.M.)
