+2 to Patton (One of my favorite movies of all time)
-2 Spartacus (I don't consider it a "war" movie) -2 Red Dawn (I'm thinking about a REALISTIC war movie)

I'd say Hotel Rwanda is a war movie; specifically, a civil war movie.
Not to say that you shouldn't vote it down. There's sense in voting up films that represent the genre more aptly.

RunningBear, your list is off just slightly, but mine should be up to date, including Launchywiggin's votes today, feel free to double check the math on it. Only one of Dag’s -2 votes for Band of Brothers counts, as he already voted -2 on Platoon. Blayne, once again most of your votes didn’t count, as they were for movies that have already been eliminated (Enemy at the Gates is gone, get over it )

+2 Das Boot (more people should see this, since nobody's voting. Excellent movie) -2 Crimson Tide -2 Spartacus As much as I like the last two, they're more movies with fighting, rather than war movies, in my opinion.

I vote that people who can't spell 'Florida' correctly in their profile can't have a vote, especially if they're voting down Gallipoli. Posts: 13123 | Registered: Feb 2002

+2 Gallipoli (What are your legs? : Springs. Steel springs. : What are they going to do? : Hurl me down the track. : How fast can you run? : As fast as a leopard. : How fast are you going to run? : As fast as a leopard. : Then lets see you do it.) -2 Bridge on the River Kwai (Madness! Madness! *ack* *overwrought* *ack*) -2 Kelly's Heroes ----- I agree there should be a moratorium on adding new movies; it's not fair.
As such, I'm refraining from adding "Mister Roberts" which is undeniably the greatest war movie ever.
Also, I think the final episode of "Blackadder Goes Forth" is the most affecting "war movie" I've ever seen.

heehee well there could be such a place as Flordia who knows? and actually I've never seen Gallipoli or the Metal Jacket movie or any other movie on the list but Sgt. York. I just love Sgt. York and want it to win Posts: 143 | Registered: Oct 2005

Here's what I propose for adding new movies: No more new movies until a winner is declared for what is already up there (or maybe the top three). After a winner is declared, for two days, I'll take as many nominations as you all have for new, good war movies. The next round will be more aggressive, with three mandatory -2s if you want to vote a +2 and have it count. At the end of that round (or maybe the top three), whatever is left from both groups will face off in a final confrontation to decide the best war movie ever.

And just like in real life, people are allowed an equal vote when they have zero knowledge of what they're voting about edit: (I'm just sore because the two you voted down were my favs). Not that I don't like Sgt. York...
And just because it's piqued my interest, I'll list my top 5 war movies along with my votes for today:
Full Metal Jacket +2 Gallipoli Sgt. York Braveheart Saving Private Ryan

Heh. Sorry about that... I just voted those down because they were winning... I would much rather not vote any down and just vote Sgt. York up but I don't think that's allowed.

Read back a few posts. Nominations of new movies has been temporarily suspended, pending the start of the second round of voting. (Sound official enough?). You're free to revote your +2 for the day.
And incidentally, Blackhawk Down was eliminated two days ago I believe, so you can feel free to revote one of your -2s as well.
