It was touch and go for a while, but when Glorfindel arrived, it really helped. Then followed a desperate flight to the Ford, where Frodo bravely faced the Black Riders, even though he was gravely injured. Thanks to Elrond's summoning of the River the Black Rider's Horses were drowned and the riders themselves had to flee. A company of elves found Frodo and are carrying him to Rivendell. We are only four miles away from a place where we can rest and recover.

My personal total is now 36 miles. In less than a month. I'm actually kind of proud of that.
That total is exercise only - not normal everyday activities and it's all either walking or walking with short running intervals.

5/29 -- 4 miles (jazzercise) 5/30 -- 1 mile (yoga) 6/3 -- 3.5 miles (hiking) 6/5 -- 4 miles (jazzercise) 6/6 -- 1 mile (yoga)
I did a ton of yardwork over Memorial Day weekend, but I have absolutely no idea how to count that. My body could sure feel it, though . . . eee gads!

Since I started posting in this thread, I've walked about 70 miles. That was all at work. I normally average about 30 miles a week. No wonder my feet hurt when I get home.

Yes, I have a pedometer. I do custodial work at a grocery store. That includes sweeping the store every hour.

Thanks, Derrell. I wish I had gotten mine before summer vacation so I could see how many miles I walk as I teach. I tend to the dramatic side of things, so i do a lot of pacing and arm-waving. Now, I am a sad sack, but trying to move more. The pedometer really helps that.

Okay this is not working. So many people are posting cumulative miles and I'm confused as to what is new mileage and what isn't.
Since we made it to Rivendell as a forum, I say from now on people just keep track and let us know where they are individually. We can still use this thread, to post our accomplishments.
For example, I'm now up to 70 miles since 5/8/07 which means I'm at Buckleberry Ferry and only three miles away from sleeping at Crickhollow for the night.

Since I started tracking in this thread, I've gone 250.4 miles by bike and by foot. I'll have to check my location as soon as I can find my copy of the atlas.
