We are one of ten finalists for Parenting's Family Road Trip. You can vote for us here. I believe you can come back to vote daily. Please help us win! Voting goes for one month. Thanks!

Janitor edit -- they've updated the "official" rules, and told us to have people vote as much as they want. Other families are not slowing down, so we need all the help we can get!
Thank you!!!
Janitor edit 2 -- subject change. And again, thank you all!

In general, I never do the "vote for us!" thing. But this is a WELL-deserved exception. Good luck, guys!

Thank you all for voting, including any of you who didn't post that you did. Although I've been taking a little time away, I do still think of this place as family.
Earlier it didn't seem to be allowing multiple voting -- you could hit vote, but the number didn't change. That doesn't seem to be the case any more. Y'know, just sayin'.

lol....if you go back to the site it moves back one on the vote count, so when you post again it only goes back up to the one. Just letting you know, multiple voting doesn't help. At least I tried. Posts: 14800 | Registered: Jul 2001

Looks like you guys are number 2 by about 300 points this morning. I think voting every day is going to be critical.

Just got an e-mail from the contact at Parenting (I did not write to ask, but I bet someone did).
quote:Hi!
I just wanted to send out an update to let you know that as of today, please encourage people to vote as many times as they can. We originally set the voting up as one time per day, per IP address, but starting this week we are allowing people to vote as often as possible. The number shown on the page is sometimes not updated immediately after refresh, as a result of browser-side caching, however, the votes will be counted as long as the users successfully complete the captcha. Again, the voting will be live until 11/16.
Hope this helps clear up any confusion and good luck to your family!
Thanks!
Feel free to vote as many times as you can!

You know, with these new voting rules, you can farm out some work to India and get hundreds of votes an hour for like $10!

Feel bad for them...
I'm seriously considering a stiff ban for this offense!
The Meeses are indeed ahead, I vote in clumps throughout the day. I think our strategy should be to vote so much we demoralize the opposition and persuade them to discontinue.

Voted twice. More than 7,000 votes! I didn't check all of them, but it looks like you're way out ahead.

Sure do. I think of it as years of thanks due to the Meeses for years of service rendered to the community.

I, um, may have voted for an hour and a half straight last night while listening to podcasts. I know other people put some serious time in, too. If you have a backlog of radio shows you've been meaning to listen to or something, it's fairly easy to knock out a bunch of votes without feeling like you're wasting your time.

I didn't hit quite that much but I logged a fair bit too while watching a TED talk last night. Posts: 8683 | Registered: Apr 2001

I just voted 5 times in quick succession but the total numbers didn't change. It only recorded one vote.
I did the captcha on all five.
Never mind, just read Mama Squirrel's message that it doesn't refresh immediately. Good to know my vote is counting!
