I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but it's the only thread I see dealing with Gmail.
At the end of the beta testing, what happens to our accounts and the emails we have stored in them? Do the emails get wiped out, or can we keep them when Gmail goes live?

I would go to this page and ask them Derrell.
But I'm assuming that everything will transfer fine -- they are just tweaking it now -- not making major revisions. They would warn us if there was any danger of the entire database of mail being lost.

Farmgirl, I sent them the question. Now I just have to wait for them to read it and reply. I hope the emails we've got archived will survive.

There once was a poster named Nato, To whom I did once say, "Hello!" He smiled and said -- In this very thread -- "Not bad. Now take the 'vite and go."

Sending one to muppet now, and if I had more than one, I'd send one to rivka too. Once I get my next one, I'll check up to see if you have an account yet.
muppet, it will show up in your bulk-mail folder. Apparently yahoo doesn't like competition from Google.

There once was an Ent they called Stump, He was ugly and had a large hump. He saw the Ent thread, He thought it looked dead, And so he gave it one big bump.
(Just felt like making one, even though it's late )

Okay, I'm currently putting up to auction a big sloppy kiss from me. Opening bid, one invite.
Of course, I have another auction opening up, in which I promise to not give you a big sloppy kiss. Some of you are in imminent danger of getting one from me -- save yourselves! Buy relief from lust and passion you couldn't buy in a prison cell, and all you need is one invite.
Por favor. Time's a factor.

I was already on that long list, but have yet to get an invite yet. Fitz had kindly offered last week, but alas, I was too late in my reply!
Edited to add: Just want to say that I am now bordering desperate for a Gmail account. I am near my begging phase and trust me, that is not a pretty sight! So take pity on my soul, all you kind, selfless people- and bless a poor girl an account.
Edited to Add again: Nevermind, Fitz came through again. Bless him! If I ever get any invites, I'll make sure to send some to anyone else who wants one.

I've had my account for over a week but haven't been given any invites to give out. I will post here when/if I do.

If my old Hatrack buddies end up with any spare invites, could you pass one my way? We've been trying to get everybody at work on but they are taking forever. I would donate my invite there (when I get it eventually) to a needy 'racker.

I've been sending off about 20 e-mails a day using Gmail, and no invites. What's the criteria? Does anyone know?

See, kat, you're trying too hard. I haven't sent even one email as far as I know. That's how I get them...by never using their lousy product.

kat: I've been using my account regularly for two weeks and haven't received an invite.
I don't know what the criteria are. I do know that if you send out your invites once you get them and people use them, then you tend to get more to share.

bump! I would still like one, very much. Do I gotta beg? Cause I can beg. I'm good at pleading too.

Whoever sends me a GMail invite gets dibs on a home cooked meal, prepared by yours truly, in my brand new apartment...served on our balcony of the 18th floor with a beautiful view of Philadelphia!
Unless, ya know, you're afraid of heights.

I sent you one weeks ago (July 8), to the e-mail adress in your your profile. Should it have gone to a different address? I still have a copy of the invite in my outbox, if it should have gone to a different address, or you want me to send it again.

My spambox strikes again! Please resend it, and I will fish through my spam to find it. (I have been checking, but when you're looking for one nugget among along that dross, stuff gets missed.)

Okay, it's off. The invites are good for three weeks, so there should still be a week left on it.
