I don't bother to read half of the posts in some topics. Just the first one, and the last one. So I know whatI am replying to.

I really, deeply, and truly love OSC. I'd ask for his hand in matrimony, but I can't stand the thought of his heckling inlaws.

Don't worry, I'm happy with my decision.

Okay, now for my real confession.
I've never read anything by Tolkein nor The Hitchhiker's Guide. I don't have every book OSC ever wrote, though I do have a lot of them.
I collect... ::cringe:: ...COOKBOOKS! Yes, cookbooks. Not antique cookbooks, though I do have one of those. I mean cookbooks I can use. But I don't actually use them that often. I just like having them. So I could cook. If I felt like it. Which I don't. But I could.

Thanks, ElJay. Any time you want to rationalize anything, come on over. I am the Queen.
Boon, I am also a cookbook collector. I have not been into cooking since the kids were born(ten years), but I have the bug again.

I own lots and lots of cookbooks. Every now and then I say I'm going to make an effort to make at least one recipe from each, but I haven't yet.
I, um, like the glossy ones with the full-color pictures best. Posts: 7954 | Registered: Mar 2004

Here's my confession: I own a record (yes, LP) entitled "Chipmunk Punk," featuring none other than Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. It contains lovely songs such as "My Sharona" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love."
And what's more, I don't even have a record player.
(Or would it be worse if I did have a record player and actually listened to it?)

I spent my childhood dancing around the living room to "Goofy Greats" and Andy Williams Christmas records. My parents have a big record collection.
I, sadly, only have the one...

The most recent design for my bank checks is unicorns. It was the only one available that I liked. At the time I thought, "I'm the one who uses the checkbook most, so I should get what I like." Downplaying how much unicorn decorations bug Porter, who thinks unicorns are only for 14 year old girls.
I *still* haven't told Porter yet. I just know he will *hate* having to use "unicorn checks". I am seriously dreading him finding out! But he can either read this thread or find out tomorrow night when he uses one for the first time....

My mother in law thinks unicorns are a gay code... though I somehow doubt it. I think she got them mixed up with rainbows.
Having the man be embarassed to use checks could have some interesting budget effects.
Okay, but I have yet to share a confession about me. I tried to do two things at the same time at work today and succeeded. The result was a vendor quick report printed on a check blank.

I only read a couple pages of this thread before posting -- I skipped all the ones in the middle.
I've been lurking for a couple af years but I still feel like such a noob -- until a couple weeks ago I didn't know what IIRC meant, I just found out today how to put a link in a post (btw, thanks ElJay), and I still have no idea what OOC means.
Oh, and I still love the animated version of The Hobbit, and I get cravings to watch it just to hear the music.

Several times this week the upsurge in chatter about post counts has tempted me to go back to an old screen name.
I'm feeling so curmudgeonly of late, that twice tonight I logged out and logged in under a different name. A less nice name. Both times I changed back without posting.
P.S. Anti-cool, do I take it from that quote that you have enhanced your checks by adding a whip to the unicorn artwork?
She studied Arabic and linguistics. She is "married" to "the Man." She is ambiguously ethnic. She claims to work for Jews though we know full well that she lives in Utah. She uses phrases like "the upsurge in chatter...."
Now, I would never be one to want to publicize the fact that Trisha is a spy, but.... make of it what you will.

I've never used smilies on this or any other message board.
I haven't seen any of the LOTR movies, though I read and loved the books. My original plan was to wait until they all came out and watch them at once, but now I just don't feel like investing the 11 hours it would take.
I love 90s hip hop like New Edition, BBD, and others.
I kill a great deal of time by rereading the oldest threads I can find on hatrack. I occasionally revive them. Those that I don't revive, I bookmark for future revival.
I don't feel like I'm very well established as a poster here. But I probably am.

I've also never typed a post and then not posted it. Though I can think of several instances where I should have.

I implied to Steve (my housemate) that the new homemade burritos would last a while in the freezer, but I'm going to eat one a day until they're gone. And I'm going to do it at 2 AM so no one sees me.
