Well, I am going to shop on Friday after payday at a local "Fair Trade" store here in town that has wonderful, unique, colorful items. And post on Saturday. What fun!

I mailed my gift today via Priority Mail. That means it should be there by Wed. at best, Thur. at worst. If I don't hear from my giftee that it's there by Fri., I'll harass the post office.

We don't have to get it off before the 10th, right? Because that's when I'm mailing mine out...

Because I'm in France and I do send my gift to a foreign country, I'll go at the lunch time for by it and send it. I still have no idea... But i'm sure to look for something fun.
I have bought it ! After a long long time when i make multiple circle into the commercial site of "Les halles", I have found the gift. It was hard to discover that. First i search for a cooking book. We are in France, and cooking is a great pleasure. I saw many beautiful book : Chocolat cooking, cake cooking, patisserie cooking, meat cooking, vegetable cooking... The gourmet 's dreamed library ! And when i am decided for a book, a terrible idea came in my mind : It's in French !
And how the hatracker can read it ?
I was desappointed... My lunch time were finishing, and no gift found... And, there is an illumination !!! (aaaaaaaaaaa - sound of a choral)
I went totally at random in a shop "nature et découverte". I walked between the racks full of many object, and in the back of the shop i saw the most beautiful teddy bears i never seen. I went for touch it and... Fabulous !! Incredible sweet !! Perfect !
I also bought a postcard with a beautiful view of Paris to add in the box. And tomorow i'll send it
But who will have it ????

Hey Noemon, I never got an e-mail from you. Is everything good, or did I miss something?

(and there was the most handsome, nicest guy working at the post office who helped me greatly with all my questions...... I'm going to have to find something else to mail real soon!) *wink*

My gifts are purchased (lots of little things), and I wrote a letter explaining them. Now I just need to wrap it and mail it. I will also use priority mail, so I reckon my person will get it soon.

I mailed my gift today, but I’ve no idea when it will arrive as it is from the UK to the USA.
Some advice for people receiving international shipments – don’t read the customs slip if you want to be surprised when you unwrap the gift. I had to declare the exact contents.

I'm afraid I haven't begun shopping yet. This is juries week, so it's hell. But I will do the best I can to get it out either this weekend or early next week. I'm sorry to my giftee, but I just have no other option at the moment.

I sent mine. I had to do it via Amazon, but I think my giftee will like it. I just couldn't swing homemade with Aerin in the hospital.

I SECOND THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had to send my gift with a detailed customs declaration, so if you want to be surprised, don't read it.
That said, I also didn't wrap it (though it is boxed separately inside the package) so if you're gonna save it for Christmas or something, don't open the package either. But I really hope you don't wait. I'm very excited to know what you think.

Mrs. M! I didn't realize Aerin was back in the hospital until I read your post above! Going back to check Aerin's blog to see what's going on. Prayers from me on her behalf....
So like Kettricken and KarlEd, I needed to write the contenance.
I ask for the number of day for the trip : It will make around 6 to 10 days. I put some italian caramels for the bear.

Choobak, that sounds so adorable I can hardly stand it.
Sounds like the shopping is going okay - I'm glad for that. I must admit that I have neither shopped nor mailed yet, but the package preparation will probably happen tomorrow night and then I can mail it Friday during lunch. It's the last week of school and things have been crazy, so I can just imagine how some of the college students are doing.
If anyone is having trouble or to run something past their giftee, we are happy to serve as go-betweens.

I was just struck by the image of a cute teddy bear happily muching on Italian caramels while riding in his box on the airplane. I hope you poked some air holes and left him a magazine to read on the way.

I just responded to you. I'm sorry - I had a major paper and presentation due yesterday, and I spent all my time and most of my sanity coping with that. It's over, though, so I'm returning to being Katie and I answered you this morning.

Well, come on down - we have a few more nifty, colorful, inventive, fun stores.
I took the day off today. Self-care. Which of course includes shopping. Found the perfect gift. Will mail it Friday or Saturday.
Choobak - your description made me chuckle - which was a great thing - I needed the laugh!

Karl, Karl, I love you! (see the "Dear Hatrack Santa" thread for more details ) I did the shopping and I'll send my package Saturday . (I'm sorry I didn't Wednesday but with my drama at work I was exhausted and not in the mood for shopping. This way it may arrive a bit later, but it will have been done in the joy of Christmas!)

My gift as well as my son's (AKA Son of Shvester) was shipped out today via FedEx Ground. Son of Shvester's recipient should receive a present on Saturday, and my recipient should receive a present on maybe Tuesday.
Oh, we hope you like what we got you!

Just so everyone's aware, Fed Ex & UPS do not consider Saturday or Sunday a shipping day - they don't deliver on either day.
