That's a good question, rivka. I still haven't gotten an email. I hope she hasn't forgotten about us.
Of course, it could be because she has one of those life things that I keep hearing people talk about. I wonder what it's like having a life. Maybe I should ask Santa Clause to bring me one for Christmas.

I did email saying I wanted to be in, and got a reply. Maybe because I hadn't given her my address yet, yeah, that's gotta be it. :-P

Nonono, you're NOT easily forgotten. THe problem is that you're in the "Zevvy, computers, pweb, wenchcon, friend, MTC" files in my head, but for some reason, are not in the "Mormon" file. I don't know why. And yes, the reason you don't have a confirmation is because you haven't sent me an address.
For everyone else, I'm just lazy. I'll get to it soon.

Okay, I'm a little behind. Yes, Boon, Rivka, and Derrel, I got your e-mails, but I haven't entered it on the spreadsheet yet so I haven't mailed back confirmations. I forgot that I'd be out of town for Thanksgiving. I need to enter all the new applicants and then match everyone up. I'm busy this afternoon, but I'll do it all tonight and tomorrow morning. So, in actuality, entry ends tonight at...midnight. Very Brothers Grimm of us.

Okay, everyone should have confirmation e-mails now except for raventh, who needs to send a leetle bit more information, and Zevlag, who needs to send an address. I used to have the address to the MTC memorized, but no longer, sadly. Josh! I know you have it - send it in. Mark - you too.
I'll pair all the names tonight and send e-mails tonight or tomorrow. There will be some randomness to it, and some planning. I'll hopefully avoid all egregious pairings.

On second thought, I'm an ex-(enthusiastic gamer). Dag, how can you still be enthusiastic about a thing you're not anymore? Or are enthusiastic and ex-gamer not related in your post?

I know the feeling, Dag, I'm becoming tempted to get involved with the new Warmachine miniature game, though . . . really beautiful miniatures, good old "best defense is a good offense" combat . . . fast gameplay . . .
I'm settling for going to maybe one gaming night every month or two, I think.

It was weird. I'd never "gamed" before and had very little clue as to what exactly was going on. But it was fun, I guess.

quote:Favorite Hatrack moments? Oh, there have been many. The first and second Mafia games I participated in were great. There was an *ancient* thread called "Courtly Insults" that I still remember very fondly. MOTO's Mindtrap thread. The Word of Day thread. On a very selfish level, my landmark. *grin* The various LOTR threads, especially the "Why did the chicken.." one and the Breadbox edition... and I could go on and on....

Oh, and was a limit ever decided on? Can it be put in the e-mails? *harasses katharina* *decides she should stop*

Okay, sorting completed. It was a mix of random and planned, and the primary consideration was keeping people who live geographically near each other away from each other. quidscribis was easy; the Minnesota/Illinois people were harder. I'll start sending e-mails now.
You have one week from today to find, wrap, and mail the present. It needs to be mailed so early because of the high number of college student and overseas Hatrackers.
If there is someone to whom you wish to send a Christmas present, either anonymously or in full red-bow glory, and you did not receive them as your benefactee, I CAN be bribed. I like Terry Pratchett, mint candies, and pictures of Ewan McGregor.

Yeah, it might be a good idea to post general likes/dislikes, although I'm thinking more along the lines of allergies; we should let our benefactors have a good deal of latitude to make it more fun, I think.

Though, this whole "you have one week, do it now!" thing is going to be a little tough, since we'll be out of state visiting Lime's family this weekend. I think I can make it work, though. Well, I can probably get it mailed by next Tuesday - that'll be okay, right?

Sorry to be so militant about the mailing date. Several people didn't get their present until January last year, including *cough* the person I had.
