Those are great pics. I only had one of mine come out. I'm not sure if the rest are on my mom's camera, or if they just disappeared into thin air. Either way the one that I have should be up soon and hopfully I'll find the rest.
Don't worry, Zotto! I'm also confused about the post above yours.

So, I mentioned in the other thread the nice man that I met in line. Dave. He's been to so many signings that OSC seemed to know him personally. He was very nice and we struck up a friendship. He gave me one of his several copies of a funny little picture and I had it signed by Scott himself...
I think all newbies that have been burned by this topic of conversation will find this picture to be rather amusing. I thought it was pretty hilarious myself!! Yes, I am the coolest because now I have a signed copy! (Thank you DAVE!!)
When OSC noticed us laughing about it he said "yeah, the only ones that are really worth something are the ones that Jake signed." Heehee

Crystal, eventually you won't be so surprised to see deerpark pop up in random threads to say something amusing.
Great pictures, everybody! I wish I had a camera of my own.
T, with a semi-recognizable brown jacket and renowned bottle-fondling skills, how could you not be famous?

I haven't seen that one before. Pretty cool.
Anyways, I'd better head off to bed. I've got a big rivalry football game to attend tomorrow. Quack, quack, quack.

quote:Ralphie Because your hair is in your face hun you ended up looking a little like the girl from The Ring. Not my fault!
See, my first thought when I saw the pic was cousin It because her face is totally obscured but maybe that dates me. The Ring still scares me.
Narnia - you should start a new thread about the Jake Lloyd pic if you want more exposure for it. I think we already scared most of the non Pac NW people off with the first 7 pages. Except Eddie(Lalo).
I don't understand why Eddie has this hankering for spanking T_Smith, or why Eddie wants to call him a dirty little girl while he does it...some people should just keep their fantasies private!

Oh, fine, if you don't want to take the offer seriously...
And heh. Johnny, dude, as much as T may resemble Brad Pitt, spanking him isn't high on my list of priorities. But when T does the dirty-girl thing with the bottle, it's too good a joke to pass up. You should see what I can do when you get a picture of T with a lollipop or banana.

MoonRabbit, that was awesome! And T_Smith, of course you don't remember it, MJ can interfere with memory while you're under its influence...a little like blacking out when under the influence of too much alcohol.

I'm just back from Denver, so I am late for my take on the Portland signing and how much fun it was. I'll try to get my pictures up as soon as I can find the camera.
Meeting everyone was the best! I'm sorry we were so late meeting everyone at the Fireside Lodge and I'm sad that I didn't get to hang out more. But what time we had was so much fun! The all-too-short amount of time at Powells was fantastic, though it's probably good it was a short as it was, for the sake of my wallet.
I really enjoyed having dinner with Ralphie, TSmith and JonnynotsoBravo. (Jonny, the reason the blue and purple only shows on the tips of my hair is that the colored layers are underneath. There's a whole layer underneath the top layer of uncolored hair that is bright blue and purple all the way up to the roots. I just had it colored a couple of weeks ago. ) And I am so grateful to Ralphie for carting me home. Thanks! You were so kind, it's probably too much to say but that I think you're wonderful. T looked *exactly* like his pictures, which shouldn't have been weird, but kinda was. What a cutie! Jonny, you're the coolest.
I got to sit next to Nato at the signing, which was great fun. And Shigosei, you are are the loveliest girl! Your parents are beyond cool -- I hope I'm as good a parent as they are when my kids get to be your age.
My regret: not getting nearly enough time with Narnia to feel like I did more than just barely meet.
Hobbes and Annie: may your romance be long and lasting and beautiful. You're a *very* cute couple. What a privilege for us that you were there!
LadyDove, I *wish* you could have been there! There are quite a few jatraqueros I'd like to meet, but you are at the top of the list.
Rivka, when I find the camera, I'll upload pictures that show off Rayne's cast a little more clearly. I made her some fleece leggings to keep her legs warm, but in a 2D picture it's hard to see that she is in a big ole cast. (Which, btw, is coming off tomorrow YAYYY!, to be replaced by a new one that will be on for 3-4 weeks.)
Thanks everyone for making the time so terrific, and for greeting my husband so warmly. We all had a good time, especially Rayne, who is a total ham and soaked up the attention like a sponge.

I'm looking forward to seeing more pictures!
Jeni, your children are lovely. Rayne had the cutest smile! Too bad your family couldn't make it to the OMSI trip. I'm sure they would have had fun.
As for not getting enough time with Narnia, you know what that means! Another get-together! I'd love to hang out sometime this summer.

In celebration of my 500th post (only took me a year and a half!) I am posting in this thread because the get-together symbolizes the sort of community that keeps me here at Hatrack. I love how people see each other as more than a screenname and a few words on the page. I am constantly amazed at how much people care about someone they've never met in person. Hatrack has also become a source of learning for me. Why read the newspaper when all the important and interesting articles are posted here? I enjoy the commentary on a variety of political, social, and scientific news. And of course, there's the humor. Jatraqueros are some of the wittiest people out there.
Thanks to everyone for making the first 500 so great. May there be many more!

I was in the airport on Thanksgiving, and saw an advertisement for Washington/Idaho/Oregon and it had a picture of Crown Point (in Oregon) on it! I totally never would have recognized it if Toni and Dan hadn't driven T_Smith and I there during the get together weekend. So I'm thankful that my knowledge of great tourist spots has been expanded.

I would have asked for a boob lift, but I decided to spare him the humiliation. Guys don't ask other guys to feel their booblets. It's just not manly.
And asking for another head squish would have just been redundant.
