Fourteen levels below, on the ground floor, the cavelike interior of the cocktail lounge was almost uncomfortably cold.

Yes, please. It's cold out there today. The wind chill factor makes it feel like it is -18°. Celsius that is.

I keep hoping that the activity in this thread will somehow resuscitate the forum in general. It is an unlikely scenario, but not impossible.

Also, I really want to get to the second place in the rankings. However, the person currently in the runner-up position seems unwilling to give up his spot.

Okay, I'll admit it. That was a low blow. This should always remain a fair competition. Much thanks to our moderator for keeping an eye on the situation.

There was a time, once, when I had second place.

Somehow, instead of clinching first I've slid back a couple spots.

I have run into this problem before. It is always a hazard to make jokes that are based on pop culture references. If the other party is unfamiliar with the relevant subject, the joke will most likely fall flat.

Interesting. I don't actually remember if he has any catchphrases. And I've watched The Simpsons only sporadically, as before we did not have a channel over here that aired the show consistently.

At the time it was the norm to dub most cartoon shows. I am very glad that I have not ever seen a dubbed episode of The Simpsons. It seems so unlikely that they would have been able to do it properly.

Cartoon shows that are meant for kids are still dubbed. Before I could see Avatar in English, I had to buy it on dvd. Fortunately in that case, the dubbed version was still good enough to get me hooked on the show.

Also, you can always put on warmer clothes to ward off the cold. But in the heat there is a limit to how you can adjust your clothing to deal with it. The only thing to do is take it easy.
