So, we're leaning more toward the teas/ hot cocoa sort of thing, with the odd coke or Dew thrown in?
I think the hotel will let us use a water cooler.
Every room has a coffee maker, so the hot drinks should not be a problem. I may also bring some guarana, which I have loved since my summer mission in Brazil. Antartica brand. Mmmm.
Jenny, I'm sure we'd all like to sample whatever fresh tea you could spare, you femme of many talents, you.

I need emails ( as soon as possible ) from the people we were giving rides to.
My grandmother just passed away yesterday. She'd been in a Hospice center for a year now, so it didn't come as a suprise. Only thing upsetting me is that I'm worried more about wenchcon.
It looks like I may not be able to leave Michigan until after a "noon-ish" funeral. Making our time to meet those we're carpooling fall backwards, and collapsing lunch ideas, placing us in Atlanta 4am or later.
If i could have an email from both Hobbes and JennyGardener as soon as possible, we can figure something out, such as if a time shift is possible, or Becky goin without me, or whatever is necessary.
So emails, sent to psychotriad@hotmail.com, as soon as possible, please. Damn life getting too complicated.
oh and on fencing stuff ~ still waiting for an answer. I'll keep y'all informed

My order of preference for soda is Dr. Pepper, root beer, cherry coke, ginger ale, and then cola. But cola's fine if that's what everyone else wants. I detest diet, though.

Okay, it looks like I MIGHT be renting a car for the weekend, since I've been threated by two GA friends that if I don't see them, they will take my life. These visits would occur on Sunday..and Monday morning.
However, I have to call Alamo to make sure I can actually rent a car. They seem to say I can...THEY will let you pay with a debit card (with a MC or visa logo) provided you have proof of a roundtrip ticket. AND the minimum age is 21. So they say. I'll call tomorrow and find out.
If it IS true and I CAN rent a car, then I could take a group of Hatrackers myself.

If you don't, I think I have worked out an arrangment that will get everyone to the hotel without having to pay (unless they just WANTED to, like CT, who needs time to steel herself to face our weirdness )

quote: 2.Extra costume accessories, so we can force the unprepared into making fools of themselves with the rest of us.
*shudders* so many foul minds.. so many foul jokes.. and I had to be Gandalf. Have my own cloak this year. Can't force me to be nothin.
May I add a note to your list?
7. Anyone who wants to learn how to fence should bring:
Decent shoes (tennis shoes, whatever; as long as we don't have anyone trying to fence in sandals or heels we'll be fine). Socks too, of course!
Jeans, or sweatpants, or some type of pant that you can easily move in. Nothing tight; i've split a pair of jeans quite well before.
As heavy of a sweatshirt as you can spare. I was unable to get proper jackets (my backup-backup couldn't get ahold of any). I say spare, because there's a negligent chance that it might get caught and torn/stretched, and i don't want anyone's $90 sweater getting damaged. And as for the 'heavy' comment, more padding == less possible bruises.
** Bring a good attitude. I haven't been able to go fencing much lately, so everything about this little psuedo-lesson may be, rusty. -*- We won't be going crazy and beating each other up (hopefully) so no one has to sit out thinking "I'm gonna get hurt". Since the limited equipment everyone wont get a chance to go all at the same time.
I was able to get 3 righty foils, 3 masks, and maybe some gloves. I personally own a spare lefty sword. Are we going to have an abundance of lefties wanting to fence? If so i may need to find another sword.
*mentally prepares to make with the fancy sword-learning*
*pats Lalo's head*
Have a doggy biscuit.
T- It's okay, dude.
Hey! I'm making Strawberry Creme Pies! In individula serving cups, no less.
There will be meat Lasagna and Veggie Lasagna, Lots of crusty Garlic Bread, and two de-lucious salads (one made by our very own Katharina which sounds lovely and will have chicken in it, and one spinach and strawberry concoction with nuts and a raspberry vinegrette). Drinks will be soft drinks, teas and water, or whatever you want to buy from the hotel drink machines.
The menu is set at this point. If you can't/won't eat that stuff, I'm sorry.
ALSO, Jenny and I wanted to go dancing on Sunday night, but the hubby doesn't want me to if it will only be us two little women. So, a bunch of you can come with us, please.

2. I rented a car from Enterprise. My insurance company recommended them. They only charge $10 extra per day for under 25 age drivers. I was looking at Alamo, but they said if you have two accidents in the past 36 months, even if you were at zero fault (which is MY case) that they won't let you rent. Which is stupid.
So anyway. There's going to be seven of us arriving at Hartsfield between 3-5 on Friday. Enterprise said that folks who are riding with me can ride the shuttle over to the rental place with me, no problem.
I'm not sure if we should do four to my car or what and how we'll get seven folks back.
Mack-- Either Morbo or I will show up to haul some of you guys, don't worry.
Hey, Morbo had the idea that we could have a book exchange! So bring any old paperbacks or whatever to trade (for someone else's old paper back that you haven't read )

In that case I am *definitely* going to the thrift store on Friday morning to throw together a hobbit costume.
I am not much for clubs, but I love to dance, so I will happily go out dancing. Swing would be awesome, but I'll take club style as well.

just to let three rooms full of people know, we'll probably be in quite late, as in early morning late. I don't know how you folks want to figure that out.
From a dance club site: (It said they usually dance at Reunions Bar and Grill)
"Friday nights from 9PM to midnight (No Cover) Reunions is located in the Marriott Hotel at Perimeter Mall. 246 Perimeter Center Parkway NE Atlanta, GA 30346 770-394-6500
Sunday nights from 7PM to 10PM. Admission is $3 for members and $5 for non members. We usually have dance lessons from 5PM to 7PM."
(I looked up Reunions bar and grill and found the following) "Reunions Bar & Grill is a great place where friends meet for food and fun. Enjoy burgers, sandwiches and pizza, as well as your favorite beer, wine or cocktail. Catch all the sports action on their big-screen TV. Open daily."
Other than that info, I found one other place:
"Make a Toast Sip a cocktail and absorb the Rat Pack vibe at Leopard Lounge (84 12th St., Atlanta, 404-875-7562), where velvet-draped furniture and leopard walls set the mood. DJs are featured on Thursdays, and swing bands play on Fridays."
