As always, I'm still up for anywhere. Well... anywhere but here. I have some pretty friggin high ambitions to travel and get out of here for a weekend.

The odds are quite slim that I could attend either way, but of those slim odds, Atlanta is double that of Dallas. :wonders if the budget for Arwen dress would get a ticket on a reputable means of transport or defray the cost of driving: I could probably drive and bundle it with a visit to my sister in FL.

My preferenes is for maximum people to be there. So far, Atlanta works.
Avadaru, I'm cheering for your dog to have her puppies at a time that would allow you to come to this. Know that.

Dallas is three hours farther away than Atlanta, according to MapQuest. So, I guess it doesn't matter much to us either way!

I'm glad Ni told me to look at this. I live right across the border from atlanta in south carolina. I would love to come. I've got a score to settle with Nate
So my vote is for atlanta cause I could just drive right over there. Wow, I am excited now.

Has anybody suggested Atlanta and Dallas? Of course, all the cool hatrackers should come to Atlanta, but I could be biased. . .

Just so long as there's one in Atlanta, I'm excited for once and you can't take that away from me

It looks like the greatest number of people that want one place is Atlanta. I'm down for Atlanta.

Since nobody can decide a place in the USA, I suggest Ontario- either Toronto or London. I can get great rates at hotels, and can get catering super cheap (I'm a culinary student now- I'm developing lots of connections). The local theater is offering all three movies, and it's out of the way for most everybody, so it makes it very fair *grins*. And if we can't make it to the local theater or if it's decided this is preferible, I can borrow my brother's big screen tv or perhaps one of my schools projecter thingies and we can pretend we're in the movie theater
*giggles*
-And- then you can tell everybody you saw RotK in a different country!

My rough count shows Atlanta winning, but I haven't looked over the thread in detail. I wish someone unbiased would tally the votes, so people could start planning.

Honestly, I could go to either one, and don't particularly care which it is. I'll go count votes, if someone wants to check me and thinks im lying, then they can. My feelings wont be hurt.
Jan 16-19th Atlanta (or Dallas, though looks like the voting for Atlanta outnumbers Dallas) Gather, meet, rock out, party, stay at hotel, watch RotK, rock some more, scare hotel attendents.

Hmm, I'm still thinking about coming, location doesn't matter to me honestly. It does look as though Atlanta is "popular". So can I count on 16-19th of Jan?
Anything that we should bring in particular? *other than ourselves, and clothing. :-P*
I'm still quite undecided at this point, knowing that there was a set place and date would help though, and I think it would help others to say Yay/Nay as well.

I'm so sorry I have been out of the loop for a bit, but the good news is tI have a hotel (Details coming when the deal is confirmed in writing).
MLK weekend it is and in Atlanta, by the votes. So thee you have it. Hope to post more details after the mail runs.
Oh, and we will probably dress in costume to go to the movie, or else go somewhere in costume. The RotK viewing should be Saturday evening, after dark, and most other activities will be at the hotel on Saturday-- so Sabbath restrictions should be okay.
I'm still scouring for a good caterer, but when I have it, I'll give y'all a per person figure for lunch on Saturday.
Morbo, do you know any good local caterers? We'll need some kosher or vegitarian stuff, maybe someone who does great salads?
OH! And I just got LotR Movie Trivial pursuit! I have not played it yet, and probably won't get to anytime soon, but I did open it up and go all fangurly on the pieces.
I hope to collect some nice little things to give as prizes. It won't be much, but it WILL be something.

May I ditto those compliments about Olivet. She does rock!
The final designs for the t-shirts will be up soon (I hope). The poll will soon follow. It's gonna be tough to choose since they are all great designs.
If there are any problems with the poll, just let me know by posting here or emailing me at wenchcon@nacrimosse.com.
